solar powered modules

solartonic’s unique patented, vertically mounted, wrap-around, framework integrated solar panel modular system is designed for optimal power generation at any site and geographical location. Its full 360-degree solar orientation provides passive all-day solar tracking, high shade tolerance and a more even distribution of power generation throughout the day and year. solartonic’s proprietary solar modules are fabricated and installed in-house in a modular configuration sized to support the specified power demand from lighting and other connected devices. Each layout is sized optimally and fit for purpose for mass customization. The solarap™ modules are mounted at 3 ft intervals and integrated with our solaframe™ configuration to provide the most efficient aerodynamic performance with an elegant,  unobtrusive slimline appearance

solaframe™

 product design frameworks

solartonic’s product solutions are supported by solaframe™, our custom in-house designed and fabricated product framework systems, engineered for site-specific wind loading and equipment requirements. The structures are designed to integrate control equipment and battery systems with solarap™ PV modules, luminaires and other connected devices. solaframe™ sub-assemblies are configured into a wide range of modular shapes, sizes and geometric forms to combine architectural, engineering and aesthetic requirements with seamless integration of the PV modules. Product sizes range from 3 ft to 39 ft and include poles and frames for area illumination, bus shelters, signage mounts, monument caps and display arches, all configured for site-specific functional, lighting, solar and connected-device requirements.

solabatt™

energy storage system

solartonic developed the solabatt™ energy storage system using either Li-ion or high-performance AGM batteries to fully integrate with our frameworks. The internal BMS and smartadapt™ control architecture safeguard the batteries to provide continuous system autonomy. Our proprietary protox™ edge controls provide further adaptive power management by integrating real-time system performance with site-specific operating conditions and weather data. Battery operation is managed to avoid excessive depth of discharge and temperature extremes, maximizing available cycle life and long-term performance. The NEMA-rated battery systems are securely housed in-pole or within engineered ground enclosures according to site conditions, battery capacity and application requirements, while providing practical access for inspection, maintenance and eventual replacement.

smartadapt™

integrated edge engine

solartonic’s smartadapt™ is our off-grid solar-powered edge control system running on solartonic’s proprietary protox™ control modules. It provides the engine to capture real-time system performance data for local control and subsequent processing, while adaptively managing connected devices and their power demand. The fail-safe control architecture optimizes the interaction between lighting and connected-device loads, available solar energy and battery performance. smartadapt™ is integrated with USB charging, CCTV devices, LED lighting, Wi-Fi and cellular modems, LCD/LED/E-ink displays, emergency alerts and lighting, multi-color LED accent lighting, and environmental, parking and motion sensors. This provides a resilient autonomous control layer for each integrated framework system.

centralized system intelligence

solartonic developed solahub™ as the central IoT and intelligence platform supporting our integrated framework solutions and managing data generated by our protox™ edge control systems. It connects the distributed solar-powered framework products through cloud-based wireless communications, providing centralized monitoring, system analytics, historical performance intelligence, automated notifications and graphical monitoring and control dashboards. solahub™ centrally manages systems for signage, lighting, wayfinding, wireless communications, mobility, internet access, outdoor security and dynamic information. solahub™ transforms distributed system data into actionable centralized intelligence for performance, management and continuous improvement.
